A Colorful Week in October (10/24 - 10/28)

Happy Monday parents! Hope you all had a great weekend! Please take a look at what is happening this week in fourth grade.

Math- We will be starting our third unit in math this week which focuses on fractions. They will not have homework tonight, but a new homework packet will be sent home on Tuesday 10/25. Please look out for this packet to ensure that the students do not misplace it throughout the unit.

Science- We are continuing on with our Water unit. The students will be learning about watersheds and how we can protect our watershed.

Reading- The students are using their inferring skills to identify symbolism and themes in their fiction texts. Make sure your child is reading at home every night!

Writing- As we wrap up our first unit of writing, the students are working independently on a realistic fiction piece to show what they have learned the last couple of months.

Word Work- New word sorts are going home on Tuesday. Tic Tac Toe homework is due Oct. 31st!!  (FYI- Word Work is the same as Spelling)

Vocabulary- We will have a Word of the Day quiz on our 10 new interesting words this Thursday!

Social Studies- Part of reading a map is being able to determine the location of Latitude and Longitude. We will be working on this as a map skill during the week.

Please do not forget to sign up for a conference time!
