A Hallo-week! (10/31-11/03)

Happy Tuesday parents! Hope you all had a fun night trick-or-treating with your families! Please take the time to check out what is happening this week in fourth grade!

Math - We continue to work through unit 3 on fractions and their different properties. There unit test will be given the Thursday before Thanksgiving break. Please make sure that your child is completing all of their homework and keeping up with their classwork on school.

Science - In Science, the students are learning about watersheds and how we can protect ours in particular. We will be creating our own watershed in class tomorrow and the students will be creating posters in class on ways we can conserve, protect, and restore our Earth's water. This will be for a small Science grade.

Reading- The students have been identifying symbolism in Fiction texts. We will be wrapping up this unit with a post assessment on the skills we learned so far. Our next unit will cover nonfiction texts.

Writing- The students got to share their realistic fiction stories in small groups. They all realized the importance of rereading stories to catch editing mistakes before publishing their writing pieces. Next we are learning how to structure essays.

Word Work- New sorts were handed out! Tic Tac Toe Homework is due November 8th!

Social Studies- Our test on map skills will be on Wednesday. The students will be able to use their resources to take this test.
