A Week Before Break

Happy Monday! Five days and counting until Christmas break! We know that the students are excited for break, but we want to make sure that they are focused and learning while still having fun throughout this week. Please take a look at what will be happening in fourth grade:

Math: Students will be finishing up Unit 4 this week in Math, which means that their unit test will be this Thursday. I will be sending home a study guide as usual which will be optional. If they choose to do their study guide, they will earn 2 extra credit points on their unit test.

Science: We are continuing to work through our unit on Adaptations and Patterns. The students will be focusing on the animal kingdom this week. Also, Thursday and Friday, the students will be completing two different holiday STEM projects, which will require them to build something while working in a group. It should be a great time!

Reading: The students are working in small groups to research how different countries celebrate Christmas.

Writing: We are writing persuasive essays. They will be due this Friday!

Social Studies: How do other cultures celebrate holidays in the month of December?

Word Work: Tic Tac Toe is due Tuesday! New word sorts will be given after the holiday break.

Upcoming Dates:

Christmas Break: December 24th- January 2nd (Students will return on the 3rd)

No School: January 16th-17th

End of the 2nd Marking Period: January 18th
