A Chilly Week in Fourth Grade (10/19-10/23)

Hello parents! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend even though it was a little cold. Please check out what is going on in fourth grade this week!

Math - This week we will be finishing up Unit 2 in Everyday Math, which means that the students will have a math test this Friday. I will be sending a study guide home Thursday night. It will be optional, but if the students complete it, they will receive two extra credit points on their tests and will have a better idea of what the test will be like. We will begin Unit 3 early next week and will be finished with this right before Thanksgiving break.

Science - Last week, we started our new unit in science on water. Students will be learning about the different water resources there are, their characteristics, and the different watersheds that are surrounding us. We will be having a short quiz on Wednesday on the different water resources. Please make sure that your child looks over their study guide Tuesday night to guarantee a good, last grade for Science for the marking period.

Reading- We will be reading various texts and making inferences

Writing- The students are beginning to publish their realistic fiction story on Google Docs

Word Work- TIC TAC TOE spelling due Friday, Oct 23rd

Social Studies- We will be having a quiz on map skills next week. The students will be allowed to use their study guides for this quiz
